After attending the 2015 IN THE BAG Event, I was asked to join the 2016 Steering Committee with the primary responsibility of redesigning their event website. I had been so impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication that I had witnessed during the event that I could not resist signing up for this opportunity to give back to help support the American Red Cross.
The primary goal was to make a responsive site that was easy to navigate for a wide range demographic. We needed to more effectively call out ticket sales for both event and online raffle items. And we included a “Latest News’ section to keep content active during the countdown to the event.
In addition, I provided print and photographic services as needed. I updated and redesigned art for publication ads, business cards, postcards and the event program. I shot all the purse photos for the gallery on the website as well as day of event.
The 7th Annual Event in 2016 was a huge success — we sold out of tickets prior to the event and we surpassed net funds donated to the American Red Cross by $15,000.
